Occupy Naija – A view from the frontline
Produced by Iyalode productions, Occupy Naija is short docu-narrative that gives an insiders view of the Occupy Nigeria demonstrations that lasted one week across Nigeria from January 2nd – 9th 2012.
The Occupy Nigeria protests was a response to the removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government of President Goodluck Jonathan. This short piece shot at one of the rallys, explores the opinions of protesters that attended the rally at the Gani Fawehinmi Park, Ojota Lagos, where thousands of people converged for a daily dose of speeches by various unions, governmental and non governmental organizations with live music performed by the likes of Femi Kuti, Rugged Man, Q-dot, Seun Kuti, to name a few.
